I'm not sure if this if this is the right board to ask this question on ... if it's not then please point me to the right place!
I have a machine that needs to do some daily downloads from a government agency and the only option they provide is zmodem file transfers over a telnet connection (I know ...I don't know either why they don't use FTP or something a little more common than Zmodem over telnet).
I really would like to have a command line tool that could do this because I want to script it (right now all I have is some terminal emulator software for Windows and I have to do it all by hand every day).
The only package I have found is ztelnet but it's no longer under development and I can't seem to get it to compile... Does anybody know if there're any telnet clients for linux that can do what I need?
I have also been informed that it should be possible to use a scripting language like Expect and make things work ... but I have close to zero experience with Expect and I have no idea how to switch to lsz / lrz when the transfers start.
Thanks in advance,
Claus
