we just fixed our connection problems between ZenWorks and Oracle. The Client-Installation has to be Oracle V8.1.6 It did not depend on the level of DB (we use 8.1.7).
Before installation of Oracle ODBC from Client-CD, you only use the software for ODBC to Oracle and JDBC from the custom installation, be sure that no other Oracle driver is installed on that PC and that the registry is clean from Oracle-Entries.
Thats not fine but it seems the only way to get it working with the detailed reports from ConsoleOne.
