Hi.

Has anyone been using the Yealink AX83H WiFi handset phone with any success?

I have three on one site and two on another, and even with strong WiFi, the WiFi connection drops quite often and immediately reconnects. Calls get dropped.

Also finding call quality to be poor and often hear your own voice in an echo.

We don’t see this with other handsets such as the Grandstream WiFi, or the Yealink DECT.

Are others seeing these issues?

Hello,

This is Jeffrey from the Yealink phone technical team — it's a pleasure to e-meet you.

We highly value the issue you’ve reported and would like to gather more details to better assist you:
  1. Does the issue occur even when the handset is stationary?
  2. How frequently does the issue happen?
  3. When the issue is reproduced, could you kindly help us by exporting all diagnostic files for further analysis?

To collect the diagnostic files:
a. Access the handset’s web interface → SettingsConfiguration
b. Click Start export all diagnostic files
c. Reproduce the issue
d. Click Stop export all diagnostic files

Looking forward to your confirmation and thank you for your cooperation.

Meanwhile, recently we've updated a new firmware which enhances the Wifi connection stability. Could you please kindly have a test and check again?

Thanks.

I have updated the firmware, and so far call quality seems better too now, assume as WiFi for stable? Let’s see how this goes.

Thanks.

WiFi is great :)
Hate to say it but I hear that all the time from IT personnel. I even heard that on a high rise install where 15 different WiFi networks were blasting each other away in a high rise business tower.
Not to say that this is the case with you, but WiFi is only really good if you don't have more than 2 other WiFi networks within range (2.4 GHz) and they are separated by using channel 1, 6 and 11 to have the least overlap.
Not sure if the Yeahlink can use 5GHz WiFi but if it can then use that instead and see how many other networks are within range.
