xterm error

Hi

When i am trying to connect to linux advance server 2.1 box through xstart i ma getting the following error:-

/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm Xt error: Can't open display:

Can anybody help me on this.Urgent help will be highly appreciated.

Your haven't set your DISPLAY variable. What are you trying to do?
