Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but it involves several products. And let me also state up front that I am not pleased with what they're attempting to do wouldn't be my suggestion.

There's a win2k server DC and they want to put Exchange 2003 on it (or perhaps on a separate server in the same domain). They have workstations which are XP Home (besides win98 and XP Pro...but those I'm not worried about those OS's). Will they be able to set up Outlook 2000 to check email (IMAP, not POP) off the Exchange server?

1st problem - XP home can not join a domain (technically). There's a registry hack somewhere, but I have no idea how reliable it is.

Yeah, I know. That's why I figured it would be a problem to use the public resources on Exchange.

They can get to file server resources by manually mapping and logging on with a domain account when prompted to do so, but that's not ideal. MS's web site specifically says that XPHome is not intended for a corporate, i.e. domain?, environment. So in my opinion, they're just setting themselves up for "officially unsupportable" problems.
