XP Unattended Installs NOT joining domain

I have created an "unattended XP Pro installation" on CD that installs successfully on PCs.

The problem is that the pc does not automatically join the domain as configured in the answer file. However I can join the domain successfully if done manually. The Ip config is correct ie getting its settings from the DHCP and as a backup the DNS servers are inputted via the answer files.

The root domain is called y.com and I am trying to join the child domain called x.y.com

part of file being used:

[Identification]
JoinDomain=x.y.com
DomainAdmin=administrator

Does anyone have any ideas

thanks
