I've just recently applied SP1 to XP pro (silly boy I hear you say).
Since then quite a lot (but not all) of IE6 Java bits have stopped working, particularly JavaScript links.

Anybody else had this?
If so, how have you resolved it? Let me know if this helps

Howdy John:

Due to the "ill feelings" between Microsoft and Sun, Microsoft can no longer bundle Java technology on their systems.

However, if you go to the Sun website, you can download the Java plugin for Windows at no charge !!

I can give you the link to the SP1 files.. Java is NOT one of them !!

Thanks for your input guys - but still no joy. The worst thing is my link to purple Star isn't working, so I can't reward you (yet)
Keep up the good work - I look forward to more ideas

For 9x, ME, NT, XP msjavx86.exe is also available currently through a number of ftp sites such as:

Weeks before Microsoft plans to reinstate Java in Windows XP, it has shut down a site that would automatically send its Java software to Windows XP users.
The company closed the install-on-demand feature Wednesday, 30 days after it told Java inventor Sun Microsystems it would reinstate Java in Windows XP through the forthcoming Service Pack 1 but remove it altogether in 2004.

Microsoft said the option was removed to take an issue off the table in legal actions with Sun. "
