Okay so I went a little overboard and deleted something I should not have. A family member installed a special volume control/mixer from Creative and it was giving errors and could not be deleted. I searched the registry and deleted everything that referenced Creative..Yes I am know....dumb move and now I can't use the speakers. You can't add the driver, nothing. Everything is greyed out everywhere. Help! Anything but reinstall the operating system, unless I just have to.....

Assuming you have some type of Sound Blaster sound card, you'll probably need to identify the model number off the card and download the appropriate drivers and software from

Did you try System Restore?

I would think uninstalling the sound card in the device manager, reboot and let windows find it to place standard drivers in and then install the sound blaster software for XP from an installation cd would be the way to go.
