Hey...

I have the annoying 'red shield' cursor popping up in my system tray all the time telling me that my secutity is at risk - after I managed to get rid of it months ago!

That was when I updated to XP SP2 months ago, updated my anti-virus (AVG), and my Norton Internet Security, plus in the security settings of XP telling it not to run the Windows firewall.

My hassles began again a few weeks ago when I updated my XP Pro installation via the Windows Update site.

Is anyone else having this annoyance..? Or know how to switch it off please...?

Thanks!

The normal way would be to click on the red shield to bring up the Security Center and under Resources click on "Change the way Security Center alerts me" and set your Preferences there.
