Installed it, played a game, then unistalled it and but win2k back on. That mouse acceleration you get in fps games is a joke, and there's no solution for it (that works).

If you play fps shooters like counterstrike, don't install/buy XP until MS have released a fix for it.

I haven't seen too much of a problem other than needing lots-o-ram. I only play FPS's and see no problems

Hi guys

I have been playing "Medal of Honor" with no problems at all and other FPS.

That problem got to be something else.

Good luck

I play CS almost nightly with XP... I havnt had any problems with it that I didnt have with 2k

Im not quite sure what your complaining about. Is the mouse acceleration working too well or not at all?

Maybe you should check your mouse drivers.

I'm using the latest microsoft mouseware. I'm not alone, there's an absolute ton of posts on the counterstrike forum with everyone complaining about exactly the same problem. Weird that everyone isn't getting it though by the looks of it.

The problem is you get mouse acceleration when u turn round etc. even if you have turned off mouse acceleration, with the result that you cant hit anything. If you don't play the game a lot, you may not notice I guess, but for me it makes it unplayable after playing it with no mouse acceleration for 3 years.

I havent had that prob at all maybe its because the WindowsXP takes up a lot more memory than other Operating Systems and your computer might not be able to handle it.

So far for me XP has sucked for games. I still think 98se is the best OS for games. I used to have K6-2@00mhz, with 384 mb sdr and a voodoo 3/3000 pci card and could play 99% of games fine, even online. Now I have an Athlon XP 1700+ with 128mb ddr and a Radeon 7500 AGP card running XP Pro and it craps out all the time in the middle of games with either a black screen and the sound stuck, or just a no signal message on my monitor. I'm thinking maybe I should set up a dual boot and put 98se back on for games. I already updated the ati drivers to the newest XP drivers and that didn't help. Non fps games seem to work okay, with Project IGI being the only fps that works right.

Well I have a boomslang so I dont have any of the issues with the MS mouse. Guess Ill have to hook the old one up and see if I have any problems.

I dont think I have had any problems with any games that I have tried to play. Q3, CS, AOE2, Max Payne, Elite Forces, ect.

I play Unreal Tournament on XP. works great.

i had that problem so i threw out my voodoo3 and got a cheap geforce2 64mb and upgraded ram by 256...runs like a caddy now...overall spent 100 buks to upgrade but works better than 98 did
