When trying to intall XP Pro on a new machine the installation stops approximately half way through and restarts. This pattern continues indefinetly. One suggestion that I have heard is that it might be the ram. I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this problem or had any possible solutions.

The Microsoft RAM diagnostic does not require Windows to run, it creates its own boot disk:
