check out the DNS entries in your Xp pro PC. and then try to connect to domain controller. Aslam

XP doesn't like talking to an NT PDC by default. I had the same problem.

I tracked down an article from Microsoft, which describes the problem and the solution. Unfortunately I can't for the life of me find it now. I do however remember what the fix was:

1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Administrative Tools
3. Open Local Security Policy
4. Expand "Local Policies"
5. Expand "Security Options"
6. Locate the following entry:
Domain member: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data (always)
7. If that entry is enabled then disable it. If it was already disbled then I'm afraid you've got a different problem.

Hope that helps,

Good luck!

Thanks for replies, I ended up reformatting PC as the computer was upgraded from XP Home to Pro. I installed a clean copy of XP Pro and it then connected to the NT network with no problems..

Strange!!
