Hi, people may not pay attention to file timestamp values, but when you deal with older software as I do, many file timestamps are predictable. My Windows XP Home PC has had seemingly all of it's files timestamps changed to one hour earlier. I have a folder with MS-DOS 6.22 in it and the files are supposed to be timestamed 06:22am. They are now 05:22am. All the dates seem to be fine. I have older files that are supposed to have the absense of time - namely 00:00:00 - which shows up as 12:00am. Those files are now 11:00pm. I do weekly virus scans and my nav2005 is up to date. Please help me fix this! thank you.

In your Control Settings/Date Time, do you have automatically adjust clock for daylight savings changes ticked?

Windows NT/2000/XP store the timestamp as GMT and then translate the time to the user based on current time zone. There is nothing to record or calculate whether or not daylight saving time was in effect at the time of creation or modification. Just another reason why I hate daylight saving time.

Windows 95/98/Me and DOS just store the current local time so you never see the effect of the time change.

Hi, I do have the check in the box for "automatically adjust clock for daylight savings". I am not sure when my problem occurred but I am almost certain it happened before 10/30 when the clock change occurred. I am going to try an experiment setting the date back before 10/30 to see if anything will happen.
