Your BIOS has nothing to do with it. Its your CPU that has to support it.


With that said you have a couple options:

1. change CPU to a virtualization compatible CPU
2. Use 3rd Party virtual machines such as VMplayer

Actually MS has removed the restriction on XP mode requiring hardware virtualization.

The current version will work on any cpu type as long as the OS is Win 7 pro or above.

It is probable that hardware virtualization will have better performance, but I have not seen any benchmarks.

Any sources for this? I'd like to give it a whirl. But everything I can find, even in Microsoft.com, says you need a CPU that supports virtualization to do this.

Go for either VMWare Player or VirtualBox, they both can run a virtual OS even if the CPU doesn't directly support virtualization in hardware.
 
And a Google under "XP mode removes hardware requirement" should provide you with hundreds more hist if you need further convincing ...
