XP Media Player and DVD's

anyone having any luck playing DVD's on XP with WMP ?

I can see the chapter list....but can't seem to play the DVD.

Dell's PowerDVD player works fine.

Is there any way to tell what CODEC was used to create an MPG ?

When I try to play some files I get an error downloading codec message in WMP.
