i may have installed cliernt for microsoftnetworks... or something like that on the network properties..

no.. i was trying to connect a router and messed with the network settings... i installed client for microsoft network or something else there on that list pf network properties...now it comes with this log on prompt.. am gionna be sharin internet thru a router sop hopin this wont affect it..

Goto 'Control Panel' then to 'User Accounts'

click 'Change the way users log on or off'

make sure 'Use the welcome screen' is checked, this will stop the logon prompt from comming on.

Somtimes, the easy answer is the hardest to find. :)

Becca thats exactly what i need but it doesn't gimme the option to 'Change the way users log on or off'... i went onto user accounts and all it gives me is to add users or reset admin password or advanced settings manage passwords and user accounts...

At the command prompt type:
control userpasswords2

Go under HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Then create or change if it is there
String Key: "AutoAdminLogon" to 1 to enable or 0 to disable.

This tweak is also found in Windows Registry Guide, if you wish to download it.
