I tried to install a 1gb Ipod and it caused XP to reboot after the screen saying starting windows. Then screen would go black and into the reboot process and just keeps rebooting . Any help?? Went into safe mode no help and also did a restore in safe mode N/G.
I feel a driver problem but in safe mode it does not show up.

Remove any newly connected hardware and try again to boot both in Normal and Safe Mode.

If no luck try using the Recovery Console and running ChkDsk /r. Have a look at the FixMbr and FixBoot commands too.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
