XP Freezes

I just clean installed XP on my system and am having problems with the OS freezing about every 5 minutes. My computer is running AMD K6-3 400, 256M PC100 Ram, FIC 2013 Mainboard with MVP3 Chipset and Rage 128 video.

No other hardware is installed yet.

I also encountered some freezing during the install. Has anyone else had similar problems?
