I have a client with 98SE as her OS. I would like to know if I fdisk her drive and start from scracth, do I need the 98SE install before doing the upgrade or will it just verify by swapping the cd for it to check for the 98SE cd then put back the XP for Home Edition. I would like not to have the 98SE installed when I do the upgrade.

Thanks for the help!

Even though you have an Upgrade CD it is exactlty the same as a Full Version except it will ask, as you mention, for proof of upgrade qualification during setup. Like you say give it the 98 CD.

The XP CD will take care of everything for you including deleting and creating partitions.
