I just upraded from 98 to XP. Now I need to find an updated driver for my video card - which is an ATI 3D RAGE LT PRO. All internet sites I go to (including ATI) say that the driver can be found on the XP installation CD, but this does not work for me. I keep scanning the CD to update the driver but Device Manager never finds any updated drivers for this.

Is this file out there anywhere and can it be downloaded? Or am I just stuck?

Thanks.

It's there...

Go to Device Manager, expand Display Adapters, right click on whatever is there and 'Update driver'. Then 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)', 'Don't search. I will choose the driver to install', you may need to uncheck 'show compatible hardware', choose 'ATI Technologies, Inc.' and it should be at the top of the list.

XP hates unsigned driver(s)... if XP will not install a DEFAULT driver (which it should) for the very old 3d card.. then try and use the Driver that is ME compatible...when it says not signed click OK install any way... then use the MS update and let MS update to the best driver it has...
