I have Microsoft XP on my computer, and I want to run one computer the server with client application, but I can't install the SQL server. After installation I received an error message that it couldn't reach the SQL server, and after that it cleared everything except some log files.
The end of the errorlog.1 is this:
Warning: override, autoexec procedures skipped.
SQL Server is terminating due to 'stop' request
What's wrong?
Thank's

Yes, I read that article before installation, and I tried to install developer version. (I wrote it on the title)

What version of XP?

I know you can run SQL2k DEV on XP PRO because that is my config not sure about XP Home though.

I have SQL Server 2000 Dev edition on my Windows XP.
Immediately after I installed the SQL Server, I applied service pack 3 to it. I think SP3 is required to run SQL Server 2000 properly on Windows XP. Well, I also have Windows XP SP1 applied, just in case.

nshen,
Which version of XP did you install SQL Server 2000 Dev edition on ? I have this problem that I couldn't install it on XP Home edition and I read from the MS website that it can run on XP Home. I am wondering what went wrong.
