I have developed an application in Access XP Developer's Edition on a Windows XP operating system, I have run the developer wizard to create the run time version. The application works fine on the development PC, and also on several other systems containing Windows XP operating system and office XP.

The problem is that when I have to install the application on my managers sytem. He has Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 (minimum requirement for run time system)and access 97, the error I recieve is ... Error Can't find the dynamic-link library (DLL) Mso97rt. You cant use the /runtime command-line switch unless you have installed Microsoft Developer Edition tools.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sam

Are you sure that Access 2002 runtime has actually installed? I've found that if you run setup with run time included it doesn't always install properly on NT machines(even with SP6), but doesn't tell you about it. This can be because
1) The MDAC components are out of date, latest obtainable from
2) Insufficient disk space < 100mb

3) You were not an administrator when you tried to install.

Best of luck

Thanks Tony i'll give that a go,

Another question for you, I have also tried to install the same application on a windows 98 system with offices 2000. Now the run time seems to have installed, and the program actually loads up.First my pop up screen loads and the my password screen.

Now I've set my password screen to automatically load the Username and Domain name, leaving just the password to be entered, this then cheks the password and logs the user in. But the problem is under this system it doesn't load the domain or the username.

I'm lost, I seem to remember reading some where the built in VB version (VBA) may need updating, but I have no idea how to do this,

Any ideas

Cheers

Sam
