XP + Crazy Cursor

For some odd reason while using XP, out of the blue my cursor goes crazy and I loose total control of it (seems to have a mind of its own).

Only after a few seconds I re-gain control of the cursor and everything is fine.

Any ideas of what might be causing this?

how much memory do you have, what are you doing on your comptuer at the time of the incident, what programs are running, what kind of processor do you have, and how much hardrive space do you have?

Are you on a corporate network?

Are you using a laser mouse, I have one and use it on a wood grained table, and it does that on occasion, a mouse pad fixes this.

I had a similar problem once. My mouse cursor would go nuts every morning around 10 am.

Turned out it was the sun beating down on the mouse from a window. Moved the mouse into the shade and no more problem.

I also had that problem but mine was because I had a graphics pad and I had left the pen on the pad while I was using a separate mouse. Drove me mad till I sussed what it was doing. Learn something new every day *:->*
