A friend of mine is having trouble running Clip Organizer in a new install of XP. The install seems to go ok, but every time he tries to run Clip Organizer he gets an error message: “No such interface supported. Error code 0x80004002”
This happens when you try to run Clip Organizer from any Office application and when you try to run it standalone.
After the error message, it shows the application (that is, it’s running) but with no images.
We tried re-running install. We did not try uninstalling everything and reinstalling.
Windows 98SE, XP Professional, 450Mhz Pentium III IBM Aptiva.

Any ideas?

I've got the very same problem - found this is in "Bug of the week" - only thing is, the microsoft knowledge base thing isn't there any more - I have seen an alleged fix to a similar problem in an earlier version of Word - seems to have no relevance (refers to files and things that aren't there in Word 2002). Anyone got any other information? 'Cause I'd like to know too!

"Clip art may be nipped in bud in Word, Excel
Inserting a clip art picture into a Word 2002 document or an Excel 2002 worksheet may trigger this Clip Organizer 2002 error: “Clip Organizer cannot complete the operation. No such interface supported. Error Code 0x80004002. NOTE: To insert a clip art picture, point to Picture on the Insert menu, and then click Clip Art”. According to Microsoft, an older version of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) may be the cause of the problem. However, at the time of this writing, Microsoft had not confirmed the problem or tested it. Therefore, apply the workaround posted at with caution."
