XP can't logon

I have a domain with a NT 4 server and some w2k workstation.
This week I install a XP on a notebook.
But the XP machine can't logon domain.
The XP said: Can't find the domain.
But the XP machine reach the internet!!!, and I can ping the nt4 server.

And don't know what to do,

HI,

are you pinging, using the IP address or server name? Just wondering if you have a problem with name resolution. Do you have a WINS server?

XP professional, and first I only can ping by the IP, but I have changed my lmhosts file and now I can ping the server name. I do not have a wins server.

Now you can ping the server by name, can you get onto the domain???
