Here's a new one to me. At about the same time we have two problems. First, OWA has stopped working on an NT Exchange server. Also, it seems suddenly XP clients cannot access shares on this NT server. When browsing to its shares, the XP client locks up in explorer. Other client machines can access the shares, such as Win2k, Win98. In addition to problems opening shares, my XP machine also cannot access the NT server's event log.

The NT server is showing event ID 105 and 115 in its system log. I'm going to try removing netbios and re-adding as suggested in Q-Article 240779. But I thought I'd post to see if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks. Joe.

We have had lots of problems with XP clients due to different issues. Try disabling SMB packet signing, try disabling local policy on XP "domain member: digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data (always)". Be sure you arent filtering ports such as 139 internally. This was an issue with clients on the network via VPN. XP can do funny things in NT environment. Hope that helps.
