XP and AVG 2

Hi there,

My pc at home is running on XP (with AVG) and the WAN miniport device is corrupted or something by the new virus -so I cannot connect to the internet.
I was told to make an AVG recovery disc then run it then do a system reset (OS), and that hopefully I'd be able to connect to the internet again.

How do I make an AVG recovery disc? Can I make a recovery disc when I don't have the internet? If I need the internet to make an AVG recovery disc then can you please tell me how - that way I can use my computer at work to download whatever I need.

If the issue is that when you try an internet connection you almost immediately receive an NT/Authority or Remote Procedure Call shutdown notice, there are several workarounds to get you on the internet long enough to download a perform a repair.

If you are receiving a different error message it would help to know what it is.

open up avg not the command center and under the services tab is the create rescue disk command, you could try that

i forgot to add that before creating the rescue disk you shoul first update your avg. try downloading it from a diffrent machine and then installing it to your system then creat the rescue disk.
