I have attempted to put VC++ on my laptop, which is a PIII 1200mhz 256Mbram with an XP OS, but I cannot install as I just get a message that this is not a 32 bit application. Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this is and what I can do about it, even if its get a more modern Visual C++, i am using VStudio v6 at the moment. thx in advance.

umm.. something is not right. You can definitly install VC6 on Windows XP as I have done on a Compaq desktop as well as a Dell laptop. Are you sure you didn't try to install VC 1.5? That might not work.

it's Actually Visual Studio 6.0 that I was trying to install to use visual C++ sorry. I don’t know if that makes a difference.
