I am new to the world of Definity programming. I would like to add an extension in the Definity that is associated with a cell phone. I created an XMOBILE station, a configuration set, added the cell phone number w/ dialing prefix, allowed all calls, and set the type to EC500 (although I am not sure what EC500 is??).

When I dial the extension number, I receive a fast busy signal. If I call in to another extension in the Definity, from the cell phone, the CallerID displays as the XMOBILE station.

I must be overlooking something. How are XMOBILE stations assigned ports in the Definity? How can I get calls routed out of the switch to the cell phone (and ultimately allow FACs for the cell phone user so he can transfer calls to other extensions in the Definity). Suggestions Needed.

OOhhh, I see. I had the concept all wrong. My bad. With the XMOBILE extension set with a brdg-appr of my phone, when someone calls my extension I can pick it up on my cell phone.

Quick question, When I answer the call, do I have the capability of using a FAC to transfer the caller to an internal extension on the switch?

I don't think you can access Avaya features while on your cell phone however the call will still appear on your physical Avaya phone as active. This gives you the ability to switch back to your desk phone while on the call. This also means that people can pick up your phone and listen to your phone conversation while you are talking on your cell phone.

Not that I am aware of. We have brought that up to Avaya many times and they haven't ever been able to give us an answer.

Well, I appreciate all of your help. I definitely wouldn't have figured it out otherwise. Thanks again.

in cm2.0 there are other features that come avail to ec500. One is to beable to conference calls. It also has a on/off feature you can program on the phone so that you do not have to go thru the setup I gave earlier.
