I am new to the world of Definity programming. I would like to add an extension in the Definity that is associated with a cell phone. I created an XMOBILE station, a configuration set, added the cell phone number w/ dialing prefix, allowed all calls, and set the type to EC500 (although I am not sure what EC500 is??).

When I dial the extension number, I receive a fast busy signal. If I call in to another extension in the Definity, from the cell phone, the CallerID displays as the XMOBILE station.

I must be overlooking something. How are XMOBILE stations assigned ports in the Definity? How can I get calls routed out of the switch to the cell phone (and ultimately allow FACs for the cell phone user so he can transfer calls to other extensions in the Definity). Suggestions Needed.

What are you putting in the prefix field? Mine is working and this field is blank

Did you add a bridged appearance for the phone you're trying to set up to the XMOBILE extension? It's on page 3 of the XMOBILE station form.

In the Prefix field, I have 9 which provides dial-tone, I'll try it blank.

dalley333: Yes, I set the brdg-appr for my office extension. Should it be something else?

I tried with blank Prefix, 9 in Prefix, and 91 in prefix. Each time, I still get a busy signal when dialing the extension. Is licensing required for XMOBILE stations?

What does "Mobility Trunk Group" mean? Shouldthis be ars or aar?

Licensing is required for XMOBILE stations but it shouldn't let you add it unless you have licensing. Use the command display system-paramenters customer options. It's on the 1st page.

Try doing a list trace XXXX (enter the XMOBILE extension number) and see what digits are being outpulsed.

dalley333: I checked display system-paramenters customer and it says the Max for XMobile stations is 35 and there is 1 used so it shouldnt be a problem.

Right now, my mobility trunk group is also ARS.

I ran list trace station 1488 and it sits there (cursor flashing) not updating anything;

"list trace station" needs to be run in the emulator; not in GEDI.

Have you turned it on before testing. status the xmobile and see if it is enabled.

complex solutions to simple problems

I am running through the emulator but still no results on the list trace station 1488.

s8700user: I ran "status station 1488" - what item will tell me whether or not it is enabled? If not, how do I enable it?

There is an item "EC500 Status: disabled". Is this what needs to be enabled - if so how? thanks

Yep you will need to know what your feature code is. then you will have to enter the feature code .

for my pbx
EC500 Feature Access Codes (FAC)
Enable : 170
Disable : 171

From your phone:
1. Dial 170#XXXXX#YYYYY#
2. Listen the confirmation tone, three bursts of dial tone.

To disable EC500 (stop office calls from ringing on your mobile phone):
From your phone:
1. Dial 171#XXXXX#YYYYY#
(2. Listen the confirmation tone, three bursts of dial tone.

x is your extension and y is your security code you have entered on your station form.

s8700user: Where is the security code input on the station form? thanks

I checked the status station 1488 and it says EC500 is enabled. However, when I dial the extension, I still get a busy signal. Suggestions? Thanks.

Are you dialing the XMOBILE extension or your extension? You cannot dial the XMOBILE extension directly.

When you do a list trace command on the XMOBILE extension, dial your extension number and it should show you what digits the XMOBILE station is trying to route to.
