I finally got mine to work. The problem was the driver and SP3 (W2k). I went to xerox.com and downloaded the driver for XP and after one error while installing the driver, the machine works perfectly. You need the original CD to install Pagis and the other bloatware.

This seems to be an old thread, however I will throw this out for what it's worth.
I had the same problem with my Workcentre M940 (connected via USB - direct to root hub) on a Windows 2000 Pro SP2 system. The problem was absolutely tied to the installation of some Win2K critical updates/hotfixes which are probably included in Win 2K SP3. I did a test print before installation without any trouble, installed hotfixes, rebooted, and then could not print.
Inspired by EMK4200, I downloaded the Win XP driver and installed it after removing the previously installed driver. Everything seems to work now.
