Xerox 432ST does not print symbols

I have a MS Word document that contains box symbols so that a user may check the appropriate boxes. This document has been printed with no problem using a HP printer. When a user attempted to print this same document on the Xerox Document Centre 432ST printer, the print-out did not display any of these boxes. I have attempted installing various drivers from the Xerox site, but to no luck.

The users pc is using Win2000.

Anyone else deal with this before?
