XC 2003 lost mail

I am setting up a new XC2003 on Win2k3, both standard editions. I am also new to XC so you will have to understand that my knowledge of XC is very little!!!

I have set up a test user and mailbox and created the profile in Outlook 2003. I have a problem when I send a test message from the test account to the test account. When I hit send/recieve I can see that Outlook processes the task for sending that specific email but nothing hits the mailbox. Also I am having trouble finding the mailbox in System Manager. Also there is nothing being written to the sent items folder once I have sent the test message.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I would test the account first in OWA.

http:\\servername\exchange\accountname

Just to see if it is an issue with Outlook or not.

Shouldn't be a problem though if the user is in the GAL. And you wouldn't be able to set up their Outlook profile if it wasn't.

An update on what is going on with my set up now. I can send to an internal and external addresses ok, but cant recieve any external mail. When I use OWA I can send to any address but I cant receive anything, but it is putting the email into the sent items.

Glad to see your making progress, hang in there.

Is your MX record up to date and/or correct?

Do you have a firewall blocking SMTP or a static route to the exchange server missing?
