X-ported X-fers?

Hi everyone,

I am in the middle of trying to re-route a phone which is being decomissioned, to another phone (X-Ported 6408D) which is on the same desk (it is a reception). I have tried using a an internal xfer with VDN variables and hard coding the number in a vector. When that didn't work I used the full phone number in an attempt to route it back through PSTN. Neither approach has worked.

I know (hope) my VDN setup is correct as i have changed the route to number to my own extenison for testing means and it worked every way i tried. The last thing i can think of is the x-port. Does this restrict x-fers?

I am about to start looking at other avenues for getting the calls redirected but as this is the most pain free from what i can see (or at least, it shuold've been!!!) i want to try and figure it out.

Thanks in advance,
S

To clarify, your trying to forward calls to an x-ported phone?
Is there a line appearance of the x-ported phone somewhere? Or a coverage path on the extension? If you send calls to a phone with no hardware associated, no line appearance on another extension and no coverage path then the call has no where to go and will ring busy.

Yes I am trying to forward to an x-ported phone. The customer wants an old phone removed, and rather than replace it, they want calls coming in to be forwarded to one of 2 existing stations at the same desk.

I managed to get a workaround in place. It turns out the x-ported station has a coverage path which routes to a hunt group containing a few other stations. I changed the vector to go straight to one of the hunt group membersand it got the call through first time.

My question is still there however, but now it is for academic reasons :) i still can't figure out why the x-ported station will not accept the calls when i try to redirect calls to it. The fact that the number is reachable both internally and externally, but not reachable from a transfer vector is strange to me.

Check your coverage path and see if Cvg Enabled for VDN Route-To Party? is set to n.

If it is, change it to y and try again.
