www works, subdomain works, but not the domain.com!

Okay I'm trying to figure this whole win2k server DNS thing out! I have

http://www.didesigns.net

registered and registered name servers ns1.didesigns.net and ns2.didesigns.net. ns1 points to me , ns2 points to my friend's PC who will run win2k server DNS as soon as I figure this out.

Anyway, I made a new primary zone called "didesigns.net" and these are the files in that zone:

Forward Lookup:
SOA
Name Server (Data: ns1.didesigns.net)
Host(a) (Name: ns1) (Data:My IP Address)
Alias (name: www) (data: ns1.didesigns.net)
Alias (name: forums) (data: ns1.didesigns.net)

http://www.didesigns.net

works,

http://forums.didesigns.net

works, but

http://didesigns.net

doesnt! What's missing here? Thx, I hope I gave enough Info.

you need to add one more Host(A) record,
do not specified the name only specify the ip address.

I just tried

http://didesigns.net

and it worked fine. Perhaps you did not wait long enough for the DNS entries to propagate.

But sometimes when people view my site they can, and sometimes they can't (they Time Out logging in through FTP)

Does this have to do with the fact I only have ns1.didesigns.net setup and not ns2? or something else?
