Hello,

I'm currently implementing the WSUS on one of the Application servers. I got so far as downloading, installing GPOM and creating a GPO for WSUS Workstations (complete with the computers and admins). After I did the editing, I ran the gpupdate /force and now I can't log into the WSUSAdmin!

It gives me an error and says that it failed to start the monitor. Then I look in Event Viewer > Applications and I get an error code 1058, where it says that it cannot find the gpt.ini in <This Directory>. I check the directory, which is on the domain and it doesn't exist. I check the local computer and the directory is not there.

Help?!

You should have a sysvol directory on your DC's, which contains the GPO. If this directory doesn't exist, then you're going to have issues.

\\dc_name\sysvol

Hope This Helps,

Good Luck!

(I do what I can with what I know)

Yes the sysvol is there. Just the sub folder for the sysvol wasn't.

I wound up just uninstalling everything and starting all over.
