Can anyone help me with this?
Have a Windows 98 computer with a cable modem, got an XP computer in addition to the 98 computer. Bought a router and hooked them both up to the internet, this worked fine and they networked with each other fine. THEN the 98 computer got the "Wsup, WToolsA" spyware and it took over that computer.
To get it off, I deleted every entry I could find (several times because it reinstalls directories right after they are deleted)and then I searched the registry for these names and deleted these entries as well. It now FINALLY seems to be gone.
MY PROBLEM is now there is no internet access to the 98 computer anymore. The 2 computers are networked okay and the XP computer has internet access but the 98 computer doesn't. In my Network configuration, It shows I have installed:
Client of Microsoft Networks
Kingston EtherERx KNE20
Plug and Play ISA Adapter
NetBEUI
TCP/IP
File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks

The Kingston card shows no conflicts. (In Network/Kingston. . ./Advanced, it shows under Property: Adapter Slot Number, Value: Not Present. I tried changing this to 3 since its physically in ISA slot 3 but that didn't help). I have went throught the setup steps for my cable modem and reinstalled it. Unplugged it for a few minutes and rebooted everything, still doesn't work. I am afraid I messed up the registry and don't really know what to do to get this back up and running besides re-format it and start over.

Well, bcastner, you are great. I tried it and it works great now. It took me less than 30 minutes to fix this and I had been working on it for 15 hours and had no solution in sight. Thanks again.
