At a customer's site I installed three new W2K3-servers. While installing, I was asked for the licensing type. The site's IT-Systemengineer told me, that they were using device-cals. After completing the whole installation I took a look at their license server and had to discover, that they were using user-cals.
Is there a possibility to change the licensing mode form "per device" to "per user" ? At this moment they are using temporary licenses, which will run out after 120 days.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry this is an excert from the website below

"If you choose this licensing mode, your choice is permanent."

From:

If you'd installed it as Server licensing then you'd be able to change it once but not in this mode.... time to get the CD's back out :(

What about running sysprep on these servers. Will I be asked for the licensing-mode after running sysprep ?
Or maybe isn't there just a registry-key defining the way of licensing ?
