After issuing init6 our server was hung trying to boot the NIC. I checked the default boot device and it is configured properly. If fact, I did a cold boot to see what boot device it selected and it booted the disk properly, so I can’t say why it tried to boot the NIC. If you have any ideas, I would welcome them.

Scunningham99;

Check to make sure diag-switch is not set to true?

I am sure you checked but make sure boot-device is point to disk or you alias first

Thanks

Also check your 'use-nvramrc?' setting. If it is set to true then check the 'nvramrc' setting and see what it is set to. If the nvramrc setting is incorrect then set it to what it should be or set use-nvramrc? to false.

If you never want to boot to network, try setting your diag-device to "disk" or whatever is appropriate.

thanks for responses will give them a try and let you know
