What I want to do is have a user open up a blank document that begins on the new blank page, type on that page and be unable to "push" the document into a second or more pages as they type. After filling the first page Word adds a second, third, etc pages as you type more info or hit the return key. Is there a way to limit the document to one page only?
Well, your response seems a bit fishy to me because by doing what you are requesting, you are defeating the purpose of a WORDPROCESSOR , which is what Word2000 is. And its a blank doc?
Dreamboat's suggestion is more appropriate for the task you are looking for. By using a form, as suggested, you can lock input to fill-in only one page and discard the rest.
Otherwise, you could code the print document routine to: 1) find if there's a second page, 2) if so then delete everything from 2+, and 3) print only first page.
Can you tell us why you want to restrict the wordprocessor from doing its intended job? Have you considered creating a template with wide enough margins and instructing the user(s) to use the temp instead of a new doc? What other steps have you attempted?
Your request just isn't adding up. --MiggyD
Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic.
I think the question is, how do you limit the document to a single page only (much along the lines of Excel's ability to squeeze everything onto a single page if necessary through choosing the "fit to page" option).
However, as MiggyD has suggested - why use Word if thats what you want to achieve? Also, if that is what you want to achieve, look at Dreamboat's suggestion.
