can someone help me. I have a Field in Access called MailAddres. All of the date in the field starts with SMPT: How can I write an expression to remove the SMPT: and leave the reminding address in the string?

Try Mid(YourField, 5) as the trimmer...

Data: SMTP: JoeSchmuck@doofus.org

Mid(Data, 5) : JoeSchmuck@doofus.org

Grabs DATA from character position 5 to the end...

Mid(data, 5,3) grabs character position 5, 6 and 7... etc etc

Me? Ambivalent? Well, yes and no....
