Does anyone know what would cause a workstation not to show up under Collections\All Systems? This Windows 2000 station is present in Server Manager but SMS is not picking it up. I was thinking that there is some kind of delay from the time you add a station to the time SMS picks it up. Thanks for any help.

PS - I'm very new at this so it could be something obvious that I am missing.

First verify that the Windows 2000 machine had the SMS client fully installed. (Although, the full client isn't really required for it to show up in the all collections if you have network discovery turned on.)

Anyway, go into control panel and then Systems
Management. Verify that the proper Components are installed.

Also, you could start the Software and Hardware inventory components to force inventory.

Also, verify that this client is within a defined SMS site.

hope some of this helps. Joseph L. Poandl
