Working with Dates

I am wanting the user to enter the Date of Birth for each record. The Input Mask that I have is: 99\ >LLL\ 00
For instance, my DOB is 04 AUG 70 - which is how I want the data to be entered and to be shown on the forms and reports. Once the information is entered, as shown above and you go to the next field, the field reverts back to a number date system, i.e. 08/04/70.

QUESTION: How do I make the field in the forms and reports show the DOB (and any other date for that matter) in the form DD MMM YY???

Format the field in the table and the control in the form as "Medium Date". You shouldn't need an Input Mask.

If the user inputs 8/4/70, 04 AUG 70 should be displayed both in the field in the table and the control on the form.
