Greetings, I would really appreciate some help please, as I am having problems working with 2 video cards in my PC. I have a standard Voodoo 3 graphics card and I also have a Saturn GL fixed frequency card that I would like to use with my Hitachi fixed frequency monitor. I understand my Voodoo 3 will not work on my fixed frequency monitor, so therefore would like to be able to use my fixed frequency card for the fixed f monitor. When I install both graphics cards in my PC, my PC automatically detects my Saturn GL as the primary graphics card. Ideally, I would like to have my Voodoo 3 as the primary and then the Saturn GL as like a secondary, so I can switch to this card when I need it in Windows 98. I checked my fixed frequency card, to see if there were any jumpers to change it to a secondary card, but couldn't find anything. I then decided to email the company who produce the card for technical help and was told it was my motherboard that determins which is the primary. They suggested I look in the manual to see if there are any settings. I looked in the manual of my motherboard (which is an Intel SE440BX), but couldn't find any related jumper settings and also looked in the bios. I would be very grateful if anybody could please suggest how I can get my Voodoo 3 as my primary and my Saturn GL as like a secondary. I would like my Voodoo 3 for my main use and the Saturn GL for occasions, when I switch to my fixed frequency monitor. Also, could someone please explain how to set windows 98 up, so I can switch between these two graphics cards when needed. Any advance/info would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time. Kind regards.

To the best of my knowledge, Win98 doesn't allow the switching of gfx cards. You can use both that are installed, or you can disable one or other via the Display settings.

Windows recogonises both, and does not set a primary and secondary gfx adapter per se, rather it labels them 1, 2, etc, in the order that they are discovered on the PCI bus.

Try swapping them physically into different slots, to force one to be recognised as 1.
