Work offline question regarding file types 1

I am trying to enable offline access to files on a network for syncronization. Some files are ok with this but .dbf and .mdb do not work. I get an error that the syncronization failed with those file types.

Is anyone aware of a configuration setting to choose file types that allow sync? If so, where do I find this?

.pst also fail. THe reason is these DB type of files are generally used my multiple users and can have issues when you try and sync and the file is ope by another user. You can either right -click and not sync them, or if you really wish to (yes, I know you do):

Q252509

click Start, click Run, type gpedit.msc

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files\Files not cached

Enable the policy with nothing in the box and now everything will sync. Don't forget to log off and back on to enforce the policy.

Another example of MS assumes it knows best for you.

Thats fine if u don't mind having copies of your database in diffenet places. Is there a way to tell the synch process to not synch mdb files at all? I have a folder with subfolders and a few mdb's scattered round in such a way that I can't disable synch at a directory level. Is there a way to do it at file level?
