One of our customers has managed to "lose" the menu bar and most of the usual toolbars from her copy of Word in Office 2000. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000, but that doesn't change anything, even though I deleted everything I could find in the way of an Office file. Obviously, there is configuration information somewhere else.

Where is that configuration file? I assume that if I can delete it, then Word will install with the default settings and will once again have its menu bar and toolbars. If I'm wrong about that, please let me know.

Thanks for any help.

I don't think I understand what exactly is going on so forgive me if I'm totally off the mark. If you click on Tools, Customize you can select what toolbars you want. Is that what you are missing? If you are missing the File, Edit...etc menu's I would try a detect a repair. You can use this tool by opening Word and clicking Help, select Detect and Repair. Essentially when you say 'Menu Bar' are you talking about the toolbar or are you talking about the File Edit View ...etc menus? -Best cartoon of all time :-D 'Spongebob Squarepants' :-D
