I have just gotten a new PC, with Office XP installed. My old PC had Office 97. I had no problem opening WordPerfect 8.0 files in 97, but I am unable to do so with XP. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I am having a compataiblity issue with Office XP and WordPerfect also. If I have a document open in both XP and WP 8.0, and I try to copy/paste from one to the other, I get a message that reads "WP Win error. Input file is not the format specified." If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.

Hello msoffq,

I would suggest saving your WordPerfect files in Rich Text Files (*.rtf) file format.

moran, I answered your question in the Corel WordPerfect forum. For those of you that don't visit that forum, this was my repy:

Hello moran,
Are you pasting from WordPerfect into Word or from Word into WordPerfect? Either way try this:

WordPerfect into Word
1. Copy text in WordPerfect
2. "Paste Special" in Word
3. Select "Unformatted Text"

Word into WordPerfect
1. Copy text in Word
2. "Paste without Formatting" in WordPerfect

Hope this helps,
