When in Word the file open dialog hangs at the look in window. Office Pro 97 Sr-2 and Office Pro 2000. This is on a small NT network of 10 users. Office has been uninstalled and re-installed. This is only happening on 2 machines and occasionally a 3rd machine. All are Dell Optiplex PIII's. The machines hang trying to open local files and files that are on mapped drives. I have seen many postings on this problem on some of the news groups, but I have not seen a single response to resolve the problem. This is not a network problem. These PC's do the same thing no matter where they are located on the network. Thanks for any tips or suggestions. PC's are maintained well and are not loaded with junk software.
