I am trying to print return address labels on some avery sheets of labels. When I set the top margin in Word, everything looks fine on the page, but when I print it is not printing within the margin that is shown on the screen. It is leaving too much of a gap at the top of the sheet, so it is not printing on each sticker. Luckily I am testing this print on plain paper at the moment, so im not wasting the labels.

Please help as this is driving me mad.

Are you using the Envelopes & labels option in Word? Or the mail merge funtion? Either would allow you to select an Avery template, and you shouldn't have to adjust your margins manually.

I have tried both options and I am getting the same issue. I have even downloaded an Avery wizard and it still is the same.

Thanks for the response - Any oter ideas

This may be because you have edited or corrupted your normal.dot (blank) template. To test this, start Word from the Run command by typing in

winword /a

and press enter. Word will open in Safe Mode. Open your sheet of labels and test print them now.

If that works OK, close Word and search for your normal.dot (usually located in Document and Settings>Username>Application Data>Microsoft>Template. Rename normal.dot as normal.bad. Test again.
