Hello,

I recently upgraded one of our computers to Office 2003. I uninstalled the original Office (XP) and then installed Office 2003.

I would like to use Word to edit all the emails. However whenever I check the box in the Mail Format options and click for a new message I receive the error:

Word is set to be your e-mail editor. However, Word is unavailable, uninstalled, or is not the same version as Outlook. The outlook e-mail editor will be used instead

Word 2003 is installed with Outlook 2003. I have a feeling that office XP is still lurking on the computer somewhere.

Any ideas?

PS, I did run Detect and Repair on Word and also reinstalled office. Still nothing. The reason why I need word is due to a signature style that my boss would like to keep.

THanks!!

Thank you for your reply.

I ran the ole32.dll file as stated in your post & link. Though it was successful, it did not resolve the issue :(

I also ran the Detect & Repair on Outlook, this time resetting all the defaults. This still did not resolve the issue.
